{"id":936,"date":"2019-10-08T07:56:45","date_gmt":"2019-10-08T11:56:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lymedtc.org\/?p=936"},"modified":"2019-10-08T15:50:25","modified_gmt":"2019-10-08T19:50:25","slug":"elect-bob-house-as-board-of-finance-alternate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lymedtc.org\/index.php\/2019\/10\/08\/elect-bob-house-as-board-of-finance-alternate\/","title":{"rendered":"Elect Bob House as Board of Finance Alternate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We need Bob House\u2019s experience on our Board of Finance.<\/p>\n<p>Bob is a highly qualified, dedicated individual who loves our town and whose expertise can really benefit our Board of Finance.<\/p>\n<p>The Board of Finance plays a critical role in our town\u2019s governance and operations.&nbsp; The members of this board oversee and propose the town\u2019s budget and spending plan, and decide on the Mill rate that is used to compute the annual property tax.&nbsp; The members of this board review the town\u2019s progress in meeting its financial goals and obligations; manage the independent auditor who monitors and reviews the town\u2019s financial reporting; and work closely with the Board of Selectmen in setting strategies for future expenditures.<\/p>\n<p>Look at Bob\u2019s qualifications:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Deep experience and expertise in economic analysis, policy analysis and project development from his long tenure as an economist for the federal government.<\/li>\n<li>Served as senior economist for more than 20 years for the U.S. Department of Agriculture\u2019s Economic Research Service.<\/li>\n<li>Later served as a consultant for the Environmental Defense Fund on farm policies<\/li>\n<li>Has a Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics with a focus on Public Finance from Rice University.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>He\u2019s someone we need working on behalf of our town.<\/p>\n<p>Be a voter on Nov. 5.&nbsp; Elect Bob House as Board of Finance Alternate.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We need Bob House\u2019s experience on our Board of Finance.
