It’s Almost Here: A Picnic So Star-Studded We Should Probably Roll Out a Blue-Checkered Tablecloth.
Friends and Neighbors,
This is it — the Lyme-Old Lyme DTC Summer Picnic is THIS Saturday, and we’ve somehow managed to out-do ourselves again.
Hold onto your paper plates, because look who’s showing up: Congressman Joe Courtney, Attorney General William Tong, State Treasurer Erick Russell, State Senators Norm Needleman and Martha Marx, and State Senate candidate Jane Wisalowski are all joining us. That’s not a typo, that’s not a rumor — that’s the actual guest list. We’re not sure if this is a picnic or a State of the State address that happens to have condiments.
Join us Saturday, August 22, from 4:00–6:00 p.m. at the Lyme Public Hall (249 Hamburg Road) for great food, great company, and great conversation with your fellow Democrats — no politics degree required, just an appetite for good times (and probably way too much corn on the cob).
Beyond the star power, this is your chance to catch up with neighbors, meet fellow local Democrats, and show your support for the town committees working hard right here at home.
The details:
📅 This Saturday, August 22
🕓 4:00–6:00 p.m.
📍 Lyme Public Hall, 249 Hamburg Road
🚗 Park at the Lyme Congregational Church or the Subaru dealership lot — just $10, benefiting the church and local Boy Scouts — then stroll on over.
Bonus: the Hamburg Fair is just a short walk away, so come early, stay late, or do both — no judgment here, only picnic goodies.
Need alternate parking due to mobility concerns? Just reach out to John Kiker at johnkiker@gmail.com and we’ll make it easy.
This Saturday — see you there. Bring your appetite, bring a friend, and let’s make this the best picnic yet!
Warmly (and a-maize-ingly excited),
John Kiker, Chair, Lyme DTC
Kimberly Thompson, Chair, Old Lyme DTC
