Upon learning the results of today’s municipal election, Lyme Democratic Town Committee (DTC) Chair John Kiker said, “On behalf of everyone at the DTC, I would like to thank the residents of Lyme for electing Unaffiliated First Selectman candidate Christy Zelek and our official slate of Democratic and Unaffiliated candidates, who bring a dynamic mix of talent, expertise, experience and new energy to our town government, and will ensure our values and concerns are well represented on town boards and commissions.”
He added, “We are particularly excited about the addition of Christy Zelek as our town’s First Selectman, making her the first female First Selectman in Lyme’s history. Both Christy and I congratulate Tom St. Louis on his election as Third Selectman and welcome him to the Board of Selectmen.”
First Selectman-elect Christy Zelek said, “I would like to thank Lyme voters for electing me as your First Selectman; now it’s time to get to work. John, Tom and I are going to work together on the Board of Selectmen for Lyme. That’s what we need for our town and our community – people working together. We need that in Lyme and we need that in the world. It starts now.”
Kiker added, “I would also like to thank everyone who voted for Kristina White as a petitioning candidate for Selectman. While we were not successful in getting her reelected, her contributions to the campaign and her service as a Selectman for the past 3½ years have been invaluable. She will continue to be an important part of town government through her service as Chair of the Sustainable Committee.”
Kristina White said, “Though the election results were not the results I was hoping for, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to every volunteer, supporter and voter who invested their time, energy and trust in supporting my run for reelection. It has been a great honor and privilege to serve the town of Lyme and a pleasure to work with the municipal staff. While this campaign has ended, the values, conversations and connections we have fostered will continue to guide my work and commitment to our community.”

We could not have done it without you.”
