Door-Knocking Volunteers Wanted

Experience has shown us that we connect strongly with voters when we can talk with them one-on-one about the future of our town by going door-to-door to reach them, or by speaking to them in small groups at house parties. It results in a rich conversation that gives us the opportunity to listen to what individual residents have to say about what they want and don’t want. It’s also a powerful way to give voters a voice and connect them personally to our town government.

In the last municipal election, this approach proved to really interest and engage residents in the future of our community, and spurred them to turn out to vote. Lyme saw a turnout of 49% in 2023 that went overwhelmingly in our favor. So that’s where we’re putting our time, energy and focus again this year.

Christy Zelek, John Kiker, Kristina White and other candidates and volunteers are going door-to-door, speaking personally with – and listening to – as many voters as we can between Labor Day and November 4.

We need more volunteers, though, to help us cover all of the addresses we’re targeting. If you can help with door knocking, please contact DTC Chair John Kiker at johnkiker@gmail.com or 646-478-6760.
