Let’s elect John Kiker to the Library Board of Directors, which plays a critical role in the governance and operations of the Lyme Public Library. The members of this board set and maintain policies that govern the library’s programs and operations, and promote the mission of the library within the local community. The board is also responsible for hiring and evaluating the library director, developing an annual budget and forging strategic plans that guide the future of the library. John will represent us well on this board and – in light of the recent book-censorship attempts that have targeted our public libraries – he will work hard to prevent any policy changes that could result in book censorship or book bans. Placing another Democrat on the Library Board is the best way to help ensure this board represents our values. You can read about his qualifications and history of service to our Town on our website here.
