We need Carol House’s experience on our Planning & Zoning Commission.
Carol is a highly qualified, dedicated individual who loves our town and whose expertise can really benefit our Planning & Zoning Commission.
The Planning & Zoning Commission plays a critical role in our town’s governance and operations. The members of this commission write and enforce the town’s zoning and subdivision regulations which enable Lyme to maintain its identity as a beautiful, historic, little town. The members of this commission also consider and review any special permit requests that residents may apply for, and make a final decision whether or not to approve such requests.
Look at Carol’s qualifications:
- Lifetime of expertise and experience in management and statistical analysis from her work for the federal government, and history of community service.
- Served as senior program officer for the Committee on National Statistics at the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine where she directed projects that evaluated topics that included census participation, economic mobility, social program effectiveness, and nonprofit R&D expenditures.
- Prior to that served as senior executive at the National Agricultural Statistics Service for the U.S. Department of Agriculture where she directed a staff of more than a thousand employees and contract interviewers; and worked extensively with small farm organizations.
- Currently a member of the Affordable Housing Commission, program officer for the Lyme Garden Club, board member of Camp Claire and member of the Lower CT Valley Affiliate of the American Association of University Women.
She’s someone we need working on behalf of our town.
